STUDENT VIDEO #1: Unit F Concept 10

  • What is this video about?

This video shows how to solve a problem from Unit F Concept 10, which is finding all zeroes of a polynomial when the zeroes could be read and/or irrational/imaginary. The problem we chose was #9 from the "Concept 6 and 10 extra problems" from the SSS Unit F. In this video, we review the p's and q' (which is finding all the possible real zeroes), "Descartes' Rules of Signs, the synthetic divisions, find the zero heroes, and use the quadratic formula to find the factor when x has the degree of 2.

  • What does the viewer need to pay special attention to in order to understand the concept?

The viewers should notice that x can be factor out from the very beginning. After factoring out the x, the equation will now can be solve normally start by p's and q's. The viewers should remember when they put down the answer for all the zeroes, they should put 0 down as one of the zeroes because we factor out an x so x will equal to 0. They also need to put the GCF in the factorization.
