Student Problem 10: Unit R Concept 3

1. What is this about?
This is a picture of an example of Unit R Concept 3. This problem is type 2 which is to find the value of the expression without using a calculator. Because there is quadrant angle, the calculation become easier and does not require the need of a calculator. This type of problem requires using the Unit Circle to identify what u and v actually are and then plugging into sum and difference formulas and simplify. It is very simple and straight-forward.

2. What does the reader need to pay attention to?
The readers need to pay attention when they do not which quadrant to use. Because we only use quadrant I, it means that the number will not as precise as it should be. With the triangle laying in quadrant I, all the trigonometric functions will be positive. The readers should know how to plug the numbers into the formulas correctly because they can mix the number up. There is a unit circle quadrant angle appears (180 degrees) which makes the problem become easier.
