- What is this about?
This picture shows a problem from Unit J Concept 6 which is partial fraction decomposition with repeated factors. This concept will be helpful for us because it will appear again in Calculus. We will learn how to break the fraction apart. To be able to solve this, we might need to use some skills from concept 1. There are many steps that we must follow to find the answers. There will be some factoring skills involve. This concept is different from concept 5 because there are multiplicities of the factors. To be able to do the set-up, we must count up the powers and include the factor as many times as the exponent.
- What does the reader need to pay attention to?
The reader should to pay attention when they multiply the missing part of the fractions by using the least common denominator. They can multiply incorrectly or forget the signs. For the Like Terms, they need to make sure that the terms go to the same place. To be more clear, they must check if x has its own equation and the constant has its own equation. If the values of the letters are fractions, the denominators of the values will go to the original fraction's denominator. The reader must check the repeated factors to make sure that it the times it appeared correctly with the exponents.
